About CMT

Carboxymethyl T United for Chemicals Manufacturing

An Egyptian applied-research company converting agricultural waste into industrial thickeners and functional chemical materials.

Who We Are

CMT is an Egyptian startup centered on applied scientific research to produce eco-friendly industrial thickeners and intermediate chemicals by recycling agricultural waste. The company links academic research with real industrial application, aiming to maximize added value for the national economy and support the state’s direction on sustainability, the circular economy, and bridging academic research with industry.

CMT is incubated by the Innovators & Geniuses Care Fund, affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under its Gen Z program — reflecting alignment between CMT’s goals and the state’s strategy of supporting innovation and providing new national solutions to contemporary industrial and environmental challenges. The company has been successfully legally established.

Our Approach

Agricultural Waste → Collection & Sorting → Chemical Processing → Functional Material → Industrial Application

Starting from Egypt’s roughly 42 million tons of annual agricultural waste and the country’s roughly US$3 billion yearly chemical import bill, CMT collects and sorts agricultural residues and puts them through chemical processing to produce industrial thickeners of competitive quality.

Mission

To convert Egypt’s locally available agricultural waste into high-value, locally manufactured chemical products that reduce reliance on imported chemicals, ease pressure on the environment, and add value to the national economy.

Vision

To increase production capacity, develop semi-industrial production lines, and expand partnerships with major industrial players ahead of entering regional export markets.
