Welcome to CMT, where innovation meets sustainability! We are a pioneering startup from Al-Azhar University, deeply rooted in the belief that agricultural waste can be transformed into valuable resources for industry. Founded in 2024, our journey began with a simple yet powerful vision: to tackle Egypt’s massive agricultural waste challenge while reducing dependency on imported chemical thickeners. With our expertise in applied chemistry and a commitment to green technology, we aim to create eco-friendly solutions that benefit both the economy and the environment.

Our Mission

Sustainable Chemical Innovation

At CMT, our mission is to lead the way in sustainable chemical innovation. We transform agricultural waste, such as rice husk, bagasse, and tamarind seeds, into high-quality thickeners like Carboxymethyl Tamarind (CMT), Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC), and Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC). These thickeners are essential for industries such as textiles, printing, detergents, and pharmaceuticals. By localizing production, we’re not only reducing costs and import reliance but also creating a circular economy that benefits farmers and the industrial sector alike.

Our Impact

Vision 2030 for sustainable development

With over 1,900 kg of agricultural waste recycled to date, CMT has proudly produced more than 560 kg of thickeners, supporting 55+ customers across various industries. Our process not only reduces waste but also provides sustainable alternatives to imported products, contributing to Egypt’s green economy and aligning with the nation’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development.
